Bokota Labama won the best player of the year in the first ever ceremony of this kind in Rwanda, organized by SMS media a this ceremony was held at the Hotel Serena Kigali this Thursday 4th Dec.
We are proud of the team that set up this event as it has nothing to envy the foreign award seen globally…. Except that some of the Daga’team where more concern about the cocktail and that reduce their 100% focus on the event… memorable moment could not be forgotten such as the time when in a video of candidate when talking of their relative young every one in the rooms would laugh their lungs out loud… we had a lot of fun! Sorry you missed it!
Back to the event Labama was competing with 4 other leading player in the country and you should not that the vote process was carefully planned: 1st of all the 5 candidate where voted by The sportive Journalist association, then every one could vote via sms media and that count 30% of final marks, and the Jury composed of football experts, Journalist, coaches, and ancient player decided on the 70% remaining upon a certain number of criteria.
OK! The ceremony was well organized, the traditional “traditional dance” , live music, different presentation, and of course according to the few Mademoiselles in the room: Handsome Presenters…
The gender balance was not respected in this event and all that to prove only that football in this country is a mostly a masculine sport!....
Back to the serous issue BOKOTA LABAMA himself a 1Million FRW check from SMS media, two persons return Ticket to Nairobi and 4 days stay at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi with the “person of his choice” and a one year SMS free , a decoder and one year subscription to a satellite TV.
It is good to be in an event like that one (especially that it was on invitation only) and we could see that some people forget their costume! Next year the dress code should be taken care of… why coming to the award in short!!!!!!! WHY? Uba wabisuzuguye se?
